As if chills up, knitting projects are taking over my mind. No that's a lie; I keep busy all year with knitting - especially socks. I just finished these gloves using the magic loop method. Being a 2x2 rib they are very stretchy and I made them long enough to cover my knuckles for extra warmth.
These are also light weight, made with sport weight so when I feel cold when I am inside, I slip them on, I hate when my hands are cold. I just had the good news my cousin is expecting a girl in May, so I am making a list of projects I'd like to make. squee

It's that time of the year, time to enjoy the holidays, eat to much and look back at the past year. 2016 was a rough one. We lost too many people to even count, John Glenn being the most recent - at least he loved a long life at 95 - but many didn't.
Then the election. God I don't way to think of it. I woke on Wednesday to see the results. It was the first time I every real thought please let me be dreaming and when I look at my phone again, it will have changed. Things have only gotten worse in that sphere.
If I try to block out all the stuff that doesn't touch me personally, it hasn't been too bad - well except crashing my car in February and not being able to afford to replace it so we've become a one car family. But that feels like old news now.
Mentally I'm in a much better place than I was last year. I'm calm relaxed and feel able to work but no one wants to hire someone who hasn't worked in 2 years and hasn't had a position that lasted more than 2 months since 2011. So the job search is leading no where fast.
Everyone at home is healthy and happy, so that makes me happy. 2016 was a really mixed bag but I guess when all is said and done, it could have been worse. I mean I found several sets of penguin charms I made a few years ago ready to be made into earrings. I saved one set for me and put the rest for sale. There is always a silver lining.
