Polymer Clay Faces Wallhanging in Progress

I see the faces all around me, taking the subway and working in NYC really pushes all those faces up close. I know I made one of these face wall hangings last summer but I just had to do another. Even more so after I start condensing all my scrap clay. I now have a lot of muddy colors I had a good start.

Actually those "muddy" are mostly greys, green and purples, nothing really brown but it was a good start. I decided no to use the browns or ecru I have, just mix up my own earth colors. Actually it is kind of therapeutic to just mix browns. There is a big range of browns. I'm looking for more terracotta shades and earthy colors.

After I mixed up a few base shades (I'll definitely mixing more shades) to get going, I started by rolling out a sheet a clay and then settled in making faces. I am just making tribal styles faces, keeping them simple but trying to show the feelings. I guess I really am just basing it the people I see as ride the train- you get to see all sorts all around.

This is the beginning, now I need to build the rest of the crowd.
